[0079] - The end of an era
"We all three of us -- me, Rupert, and Emma -- we just wept. And I've never seen Rupert Grint cry, that was really weird."
- Daniel Radcliffe, on the last day of filming the final Harry Potter movie
I'm so sad it's almost overrrrrr. When the last book came out, I told myself I still have the movies to look forward to. But now that's almost over too :'(

Peshawar, Northwest Pakistan.
Captured by Scott Stulburg
Stunning. Yet so heartbreaking. Such beautiful, innocent children living in such poverty and imminent danger. This world is shot to hell, and at the risk of sounding cynical, there's not a damn thing we can do to permanently change that. Makes the situation even more intensely heart wrenching.

1) If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had eight kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend she have an abortion?
2) It is time to elect a world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are facts about the three candidates, you must choose one.
- A) Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two mistresses, he chain smokes, and drinks about 8 to 10 martinis a day.
- B) He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps till noon, used opium in college and drink a quart of whiskey every afternoon.
- C) He's a decorated war hero, he's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never committed adultery.
If you answered YES to question one, you just killed Beethoven.
If you chose C for question two, you just chose Adolf Hitler rather than FD Roosevelt or Winston Churchill, respectively.
Strange. Makes a person think before judging someone. It's good to remember that amateurs built the ark while professionals built the Titanic...

The moment eternal - just that and no more - When at ecstasy's utmost we clutch at the core. While cheeks burn, arms open, and eyes shut!

"The world is a book. Those who do not travel read only a page."
Exotic;
I love exotic men, food, wine. Nothing beats a mixed-background gentleman, give me a hybrid of two of the most interesting ethnicities and I will guarantee myself a good time. Nothing beats a bowl of the best dutch Sauerkraut mixed with potatoes and doused in Susie's hot sauce, give me that and a side of chocolate milk and I will never get off my couch again. Nothing beats a rich Bordeaux from the south of France with a white oak scent from the Niagara Peninsula, give me a glass and I will ask for seconds, thirds, and fourths.
Adventure;
I love to indulge in the forbidden, the new, the unknown. Nothing beats a drive to the dark side, tell me not to do something and I'll do it. Nothing beats experiencing something for the first time, take me to a hillside and tell me to jump off into the Atlantic ocean beach; not a thing will make me happier. Nothing beats walking down the narrow path of "not knowing", tell me to keep my eyes closed and walk down a path of oblivion. Go on, just tell me.
Ecstasy;
I love to dance, forget, then remember again. Nothing beats dancing the night away to foreign music, give me a floor big enough for 300 and I will leave my footprints on every inch. Nothing beats forgetting parts of the night from having too much to do/drink, give me a bottle of the finest old aged rum and I will never remember your name again. Nothing beats looking at photos and hearing stories from others about last night, give me a Nikon D60 and 3 of the finest story tellers, and I promise to be your black out buddy for eternity.
I love everything that comes along with visiting a new place. Travelling...it's just in me.

Love's like a cigarette. You know you had my heart aglow between your fingertips, and just like a cigarette I never knew the thrill of life until I touched your lips. Then just like a cigarette, love seemed to fade away and leave behind ashes of regret, and with a flick of your fingertips it was easy for you to forget.

Soccer legends Maradona, Pele, and Zidane.
Soccer is the universal language. No matter our race, ethnic background, country of origin, we all still find it within ourselves to unite every four years, leave the differences behind and enjoy this fabulous phenomena. We all speak this language, whether you call it football or soccer.

Happy in the club with a bottle of red wine, stars in our eyes 'cause we're having a good time. I'll be your best friend, yeah, I'll love you forever. Up in the clouds we'll be higher than ever, so happy I could die.

Who knows where we'll be tomorrow let alone in the next ten years. I want to be able to drift freely through whatever comes my way. I want to be able to look back and tell myself how surmountable all of my endeavors were. But life seldom throws at you what you'll be able to handle. Often you look forward to one thing but receive something completely opposite. It's a hurdle but we all learn to surpass this obstacle called life. Mostly because what other choice do we have? Except to walk and toil and endure. Some pass and some don't, some thrive in their success while others drown in their misery. Who's to say where I'll fall? I can only hope that at the end of my life I feel more happiness than sorrow.

10 rules that should govern ones life:
- Never depend on a partial feeling
- Never let yourself feel saddened by a separation
- Think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world
- Do not regret what you have done
- Never let yesterday consume today
- Do not let yourself be guided by the feeling of lust or love
- In all things, have no preference
- Do not allow yourself to be chained to possessions
- Never go to bed angry
- Live in such a way that you do not fear death

This is my absolute favorite love sonnet by Neruda. I posted 2 stanzas before because I was too lazy to type it all, but I managed to find a translated version online that I could just copy+paste. Reading it just makes me so happy and sad at the same time. It's so beautiful; I can only imagine what it must feel like to be on the receiving end of these gorgeous words.
I don’t love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that doesn’t bloom and carries
hidden within itself the light of those flowers,
and thanks to your love, darkly in my body
lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where,
I love you simply, without problems or pride:
I love you in this way because I don’t know any other way of loving
but this, in which there is no I or you,
so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand,
so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close.

"Ah well, the devil makes us sin...but we like it when we're spinning in his grip."
True or false? For some, doing something sinful is actually painful to them, their psyche, and their morality. So for them this quote is false and does not apply to them. To all the rest, the majority I'd say, the quote holds as much truth as does Einstein's theory of relativity. Who ever indulges in a sin knows full well what they are doing can be frowned upon, and will be frowned upon (but if you ask Einstein, that's all a matter of relativity, because one mans sin is another mans day to day behavior). While actually going forth with whatever one may find sinful, the truth of the matter holds no clout. Who cares, I'll have fun now and repent later. It might be the biggest downfall of humanity to think this way, because really...who sits down and wholesomely repents something that made them feel so happy? Remembering what that happiness felt like, no matter how short lived, can stop anyone from regretting it all together. So what's the solution? Stop having sinful thoughts...right, like that's going to work. It's human nature to want to do forbidden things. That need is intertwined into the very essence of our beings. Some act on it, and others have the gift of resistance. I can say one thing for sure though, it's easier to resist temptation in the beginning than at the end. But the devil beckons, and finally we succumb.
